my little pilgrim

My daughter's 1st grade class had a thanksgiving feast during school on Wednesday and they all were to be indians. During the week they had made feather headbands and other props to be indians at the feast. But alas, my daughter did not WANT to be an indian she wanted to be an pilgrim. needless to say she had told me nothing of this all week until Tuesday night before going to bed. this information was also followed by the explination that if she wanted to be a pilgrim she had to have her own costume. aahHH, good to know. Well there was a blizzard going on outside and I was not about to go buy/find something to be a pilgrim by the following morning. Morning came and she still wanted to be a pilgrim (of course she wouldn't change her mind during the night) so with a little creativity and makeshift things here is my little pilgrim. She wished her skirt was longer and wanted real wool socks, but other than that she was very pleased. Her wonderful teacher said she was the cutest little pilgrim and fussed over her. My daughter was so tickled that her teacher loved it. She talked about it all day. ANYONE that she saw that day she told them all about how her teacher thought she was the cutest pilgrim. A big thanks to her teacher for making her day and not being upset at my daughters stubburn streak.
