Are we done with car problems yet?

The curse of our cars strikes again, but we see a blessing at the same time. This week B. went to work as usual and came home and said, that in our escort he couldn't get it to shift in to 1st gear or reverse. Both pretty important in a car. Well the next day it was worse and 2nd gear was now really hard to get into. Oh No! we thought. The transmission will cost at least $1000. It wouldn't be smart to put that into a car only worth $200 that was already on its last leg. So we hoped and prayed that we wouldn't have to go to a one car family for a while because its not in the budget to have car payments right now. Well B. took it to a transmission shop just to find out what was wrong and so we could make our decision of what to do. Here is where the blessing comes. It wasn't the transmission it was the clutch cylinder. (or something like that) Anyway it was a relatively cheap fix. So now our car runs fine and it didn't cost an arm and a leg. We still have the convenience of 2 cars and that is a major blessing in itself.

You just gotta love old cars. Our 17 year old car that might be worth $200 cost us $800 to fix. That was cheaper than buying a new one, so I hope it lasts just a little longer until we can buy a new one. I'm glad yours was a cheap fix.
